Second Chance Thrift Store
The Second Chance Thrift Store serves as both a retail store and a social enterprise to support the programs and services provided by Family Promise of Blount County. The thrift store offers a wide range of gently used and affordable items, including clothing, furniture, household goods, electronics, books, and more. The store operates on a donation-based model, relying on community members to contribute items they no longer need.
The store serves multiple purposes beyond its retail function. First and foremost, it provides a source of revenue for Family Promise of Blount County, helping to fund the organization’s programs and services. By shopping at the Second Chance Thrift Store, community members not only find great deals but also actively contribute to the fight against homelessness in their area.
Additionally, the thrift store acts as a valuable resource for families transitioning out of homelessness. Family Promise participants can receive vouchers to shop at the store, allowing them to select furniture and household items needed to establish a stable and comfortable home.
The Family Promise of Blount County Second Chance Thrift Store is more than just a retail establishment. It serves as a symbol of hope, resilience, and second chances for families in need. Through its combination of affordable shopping options, support for families transitioning out of homelessness, and financial support for the organization’s overall mission, the thrift store plays a crucial role in making a positive difference in the community.
