I was currently unemployed at the time, and my husband was trying to get his disability paperwork in order. We had been staying with my in-laws at the time and that situation quickly because unable for us to stay there anymore. They had their own financial struggles. I remember coming into the office and speaking to April. I didn’t feel very good about myself to be honest, I felt worthless. She was telling my daughter on how she thought I would be a great fit for the program and that I had a lot of potential. Family Promise gave me my confidence back. They spoke to me like I was a person and instilled hope in me. They gave us financial advice and got us straightened out. Soon after we were able to save up enough money and move into an apartment. I’m so thankful for this program.
