Family Promise of Blount County Receives Grant from Clayton® and Family Promise National to Support Families in the South East Region

—  A Future Begins at Home grant program helps families facing homelessness remain in their homes and regain stability —

Maryville, TN – Family Promise of Blount County was recently awarded a $15,000 grant from Clayton and Family Promise National that will ensure families in Blount County, TN receive the support they need to remain safely housed.

The grant is a portion of the $1.3 million dollars that Clayton and Family Promise National are dispersing to the Family Promise network nationwide. The funds are a result of the recently announced partnership extension between Family Promise and Clayton. A Future Begins at Home, the program that arose from the collaboration, focuses on helping families who face homelessness remain in their homes and quickly regain stability. Since its inception in 2019, A Future Begins at Home has catalyzed millions in additional funding resulting in more than 25,000 families served.

“The generous grant of $15,000 to our organization has a profound impact on the lives of families in our community. With this funding, we can prevent many families from becoming homeless, providing them with the critical support and services they need to maintain stable housing and avoid the devastating consequences of homelessness. For these families, this grant means the difference between having a roof over their heads and facing the uncertainty and trauma of living on the streets, in their car, or other inhabitable place. It’s a life-changing intervention that not only helps families survive but also thrive, giving them a chance to rebuild their lives and achieve their goals. We are deeply grateful for this gift and are committed to using it to make a meaningful difference in our community”. ~ April Smith, Family Promise of Blount County Executive Director

In addition to the grant program, Clayton has donated 16 homes to the Family Promise network since 2019, including on to Family Promise of Blount County in 2020. These homes are used primarily as transitional housing for families working with Family Promise. The homes allow families to stay together and regain stability as they work to find a new home.
