More than 700 people from affiliates across the country gathered in San Antonio on April 11-13 for the 16th annual Family Promise Conference. I have been blessed to attend this conference 5 times over the past 9 years. Each time I come home excited, enthused and re-energized. This year was no different!
Housing stability, homelessness prevention, advocacy, program expansion and trauma informed care were among the sessions we could choose to attend. There were sessions and round tables specifically for Board members (three of ours were there!), case managers and directors. Each night we gathered together to share what we had learned that day and to make a plan for moving forward.
As we enter our 10th year in Blount County, we are committed to serving even more families who are experiencing homelessness and creating a community where very child has a home.
