As was announced this week, I have been named Interim Director of Family Promise of Blount County. I am excited about getting to know more of our volunteers and supporters in the coming months. Family Promise of Blount County has the most amazing volunteers who truly live up to the mission of creating a community where every child has a home. I am in constant awe of the time and resources the people of this community commit to Family Promise.
I have been on the Board of Directors since 2016. I have attended the two most-recent national Family Promise Conferences. I love that our local affiliate is part of a larger network of people working to end homelessness all over the United States.
My husband Jamie and I have three daughters and live in the Springbrook Community in Alcoa. We are long-time members of Church Street United Methodist Church where I teach Sunday school and our daughters are involved in youth and choir.
I received my degree in Communications from the University of Tennessee in 2001. I spent the majority of my early career working at WBIR-TV as a news producer. I have also been on staff at Blount Memorial Hospital in the marketing department and Church Street UMC as the communications director. Currently, I am on staff at Maryville College as the part-time Bicentennial events and projects assistant. I plan to fulfill my commitment to the college and serve in my current role there through the end of 2019.
Now on to the fun stuff! I am an avid runner and can often be found on the greenways of Blount County. I’m a huge Atlanta Braves fan, so don’t bring up baseball unless you have plenty of time to discuss the standings in the National League East or my thoughts on Brian Snitker’s ejection last night. I also enjoy reading and am always looking for book recommendations.
I truly look forward to working with our staff and volunteers as we continue the mission of Family Promise in Blount County. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at email@example.com.
