The continuing economic problems experienced by our nation, including our city, are causing an increase in the number of children and their families without housing. As a result, the services we provide at Family Promise of Blount County are even more critical. By joining “Club 274” immediate help can be provided for these children and their families. Membership means a donation of $274 a year which translates into $23 a month, or $.75 a day. The effect homelessness has on children is simply devastating. The anxiety of not having a place to call home creates disturbances in all parts of their lives leading to sleep and behavioral problems, difficulty in school, and physical symptoms related to stress. Your contribution now will provide immediate relief for these families in the form of shelter, meals and social services that remove the barriers to transitional or permanent housing. You can change the world for these kids and give them a chance to really succeed.
